Very Easy Baby Beanie

As promised, the pattern to my very easy baby beanie. (The red ones, white and red ones and brown variegated ones pictured above) I work this with DK, about 40 yards, and a 5mm hook, but you can just play around to get the size you want. This is a good hat for big preemies or small full terms and is a lot quicker than most of the baby beanie patterns you find.
This is all in British crochet terminology.

Special Stitches needed:
Double Treble (dtr):

Yarn over twice, then insert your hook into the stitch or space indicated.

Yarn over and pull up a loop. (4 loops on hook.)
Yarn over and draw through 2 loops. (3 loops on hook.)
Yarn over and draw through 2 loops. (2 loops on hook.)
Yarn over and draw through two loops.

Join:

Stitch as normal until last stitch of round. When you have 2 loops left on the hook, insert hook into top of ch3, yo and pull hook through all loops on hook.

Magic Loop:

Tutorial here.

Round 1: (in magic loop) Ch3, work 11 trebles into ring, joining as specified above, pull tight. (12 tr)

Round 2: Ch3, work treble into same stitch and 2tr into each other stitch around, joining as above. (24 tr)

Round 3: Ch3, work treble into same stitch, tr into next stitch, *2tr, tr* repeat from * around, joining as above. (36 tr)

Round 4: Ch4, work double treble into each stitch around, join as above (36 dtr)

Round 5: Ch3, work treble into each stitch around, join as above (36 tr)

Round 6: Ch4, work dtr into each stitch around, join as above (36 dtr)

Round 7: Ch3, work tr into each stitch around, join as above (36 tr)

End off and weave in ends.

I hope this works, but I haven't had anyone test it.
