Unearthly by Cynthia Hand

I have just finished reading the first book in a long time that has not only followed me through every waking moment, but also through my dreams. This book was the debut novel of one Ms. Cynthia Hand, Unearthly, and I urge every one of you who reads this, be it today or in one hundred years, to find a copy and read it.

Unearthy sucked me in more than Harry Potter or Twilight ever did, though I did go through obsessed phases for both of them. It is a labyrinth of plot twists and romance which roughly follows a young quarter-angel, Clara, through a few months of her life where she receives her purpose in life, to save a young man named Christian from a forest fire, moves to the opposite side of the country and falls in love with her friends brother, Tucker.

It's all first-person, and Clara's thought processes mirror mine so clearly that I couldn't put this incredible novel down. The sequel doesn't come out until next January, but its already on my wishlist.

You can find the author at cynthiahand.blogspot.com, and I beg you to do so.

Unearthly: Read it, I promise that you will never regret it.

  1. First off I love this gorgeous cover. I had been waiting to read this book since I first heard about it early last year. The wait was well worth it. I LOVED Unearthly! It was such a great, fun and romantic book all tied into one. I laughed a lot reading this. When Clara was on the ski lift with Christian to the many times with Tucker. I loved when they went fly fishing, so funny. I loved the whole angel theme and setting in this book.
